Cervelo P5 Pictures / Leaks

16 Jan

There’s been a bit of a leak from the Cervelo website and some people managed to grab screenshots of the new P5. Looks fantastic. looks like integrated hydraulic braking from Magura. Shimano Di2 with an incredibly clean set up. There’s only cable running to the two derailleurs and that’s it.  The front end appears to have a variable height with two positions shown in the photos without using a conventional stem and bar arrangement. There will be several versions available and it looks as though Cervelo have built the system to be modular and upgradable much like the 9.X and 7.X versions of the Trek Speed Concept are. Prices are likely to be high with rumours of £4,000-£5,000 for the UCI-illegal Frameset ‘Module’.

  • Full on UCI-illegal Tri bike (as mostly shown below). This has the deep section fork with integrated Magura hydraulic brakes and Di2. Probably has a non-UCI complient aerobar as well. This makes my number 1 of desirable bikes.
  • UCI legal. A more standard fork and aerobar with exposed front brake, This can still be Di2 and Magura hydraulics though.
  • UCI legal. With standard mechanical brakes and gears and I imagine a more conventional stem and bars arrangement.

Aerobars in upper position.

Aerobars in lower position.

Aerobars and pursuit bar showing integrated Di2 and Magura hydraulic brake levers.

Top view showing the non-conventional stem arrangement and what looks to be bottle mounts or bento box mounts on the top tube.

Front on – Super narrow

Front end, again with aerobars in raised position. You can see the front brakes inside the fork and the bolt on ‘bayonet’ style front assembly.

Rear view – not much to hit the wind there!

Bottom bracket area, BBRight standard? Big access port covering access to rear hydraulic brake and possibly battery compartment for the Di2 set up.

Non UCI legal version, Di2, Hidden Magura brakes.

Three versions. From left to right – UCI legal, Di2 with Magura brakes, UCI Legal, Mechanical brakes and gears, UCI illegal Di2 and Magura brakes.

UCI-illegal ‘Triathlon’ version, Does the aerobar have mounts for a Torpedo style water bottle?

Close up of the Magura hydraulic brake lever.

Another view of the different models that may be available.

Aw, this was a really nice post. Taking a few minutes and actual
effort to produce a superb article… but what can I say… I hesitate a lot and never manage to get
    anything done.
